Because it's never REALLY about a Green Smoothie

I got serious about greens, I mean FOR REAL serious, last year after I was in the hospital with gastritis. I got serious about a lot of things, but lets start with greens. Greens and I had flirted on and off for a few years after I had my gall bladder removed and discovered I was 1/3 of 1/3 of 1/3 and have lasting food intolerances without my gall bladder. Too much fat? Upset GI (no Keto for me #luckedout), Too little fat? Upset stomach. Too much acidity? Upset. Too much sugar? Gluten? Dairy? You get the picture.

So I decided to start with ONE thing. Just change ONE thing. I added a daily green juice or smoothie to my diet. This was pretty much genius because I love green juice and kale smoothies. I was setting myself up for success. I already had a juicer and a blender. I found a few juice places that made green juice I loved and Whole Foods practically has an entire aisle of green juice.

But of course, it's never just about a green smoothie. I started with a green smoothie. Then I made over my health and life. So what I always tell the people I coach is to pick ONE thing. Do that. Show yourself you can keep the commitment. Celebrate the commitment. And without even thinking about it, more often than not, you will add a second thing.

What is the ONE thing you want to try first?

And here is my fave tropical green smoothie recipe:

2 cups spinach

1/2 cup super ripe banana, sliced and frozen

1/2 cup frozen peaches or tropical fruit mix (Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and Fresh Thyme all have great mixes)

1/2 cup coconut milk

i cup water

1 scoop vegan vanilla protein powder (I use shakeology)

3 drops doTerra Tangerine Oil

Blend the spinach in the coconut milk until its super pureed. Add the protein powder, frozen fruit oil, and as much water as you like up to a cup. Blend away and enjoy.
