MYL Libra Blend

I didn't realize how much I love Libras until I started this project and polled a bunch of people about their signs. Wowza. My favorite things about libras are their sarcasm, love of all things genuine and real, and ingrained belief in justice and balance.

Libras are also total flirts, but I feel like that makes me understand at least four people WAY better.

Okay, let's do this.

Libra's key oil: Geranium or Frankincense

Libra Blend: Geranium, Basil, Frankincense

Libra claims seventh house space in the zodiac ranks and is a cardinal air sign of positive polarity ruled by Venus. The general rule for air is that it brings a mental/communicative attitude to the sign. Cardinal signs are the most action-oriented and Venus, of course, is all about beauty and love. So with all this we can imagine Librans will have the gift of charm and diplomacy, with the desire to create harmony and beauty around them. Justice and accord are key objectives for people of this open-minded sign. The symbol for Libra is the scales. Here balance, equality, equanimity and objectiveness are in place for the Libra person. Represented by the scales, Libra is the definition of balance— the idealistic peacemakers of the zodiac. They are particularly romantic and compassionate, able to find harmony between work and play, be the diplomat amongst their many friends and always looking for justice and balance in life. This ability to adapt and be accepting to whatever comes one's way is ironically tempered with their hormones that sometimes fall out of whack—hormonal imbalances are common amongst Libra. You're prone to colds, tummy aches and minor illnesses. Libra women are particularly romantic and compassionate yet they are always fair and maintain a good balance between romance, work and a social life. Often friendly and outgoing, those under this sign can help reach diplomacy between two groups while keeping the peace and remaining ever charismatic.

Librans tend to see themselves through other people. If they are around negative people, they absorb a negative view of themselves, which is why it is very important for Librans to have good people around them whom they can trust. Other people are like mirrors to Librans, shaping their image and enabling them to see either the most positive or most negative aspects of self. Librans avoid conflict, something they abhor. Libras can sometimes be way too democratic. Though this trait is tied into their sense of fairness, it's also motivated by the difficulty they have committing to a decision. Unfortunately, it can sometimes go too far and waste people's time. The good thing is, you're all about keeping things balanced and harmonious. If something is off, you'll find a way to make it right.

Libra’s gift is the ability to create mutually beneficial situations in which each contributor also benefits in kind from the exchange. Librans strive for fairness in their assessment of a situation. They usually can see both sides of a predicament and can problem solve with both opposing sides feeling as if they have won. So if you need to find justice, harmony, fairness and diplomacy, call on a Libra for and you’ll get to see all sides of the equation.

The sign of the Libra is ruled by the kidneys and ovaries, resulting in hormonal unbalance during a menstrual cycle and an increased chance of kidney stones. However, through the use of Geranium essential oil, Libra women experience a more balanced cycle. The balancing oil of geranium has adaptogenic properties that when inhaled can help regulate hormones. Geranium helps alleviate anxiety, reduce inflammation and balance the hormones. Through the use of Geranium essential oil, Libra women experience less fatigue and general feeling of emotional wellness. Frankincense is another balancing oil for nurturing a sense of self-support and to calm down after partying. It deflects and reduces stress. Surrender and let Frankincense transport you to into an emotional "middle ground," where Libras feel most comfortable and where time is never of the essence.

Essential oils that fill a place with harmony and peace are chamomile, lavender, cypress, rose, sandalwood, jasmine, geranium, neroli and clary sage.

Essential oils that stimulate creativity and bring out new ideas are rosemary, ginger, peppermint, melissa, frankincense, eucalyptus, cardamom, basil and lemongrass.

Essential oils that support a stronger sense of self and individuation are vetiver, helichrysum, frankincense, rose wood, rosemary, black pepper, cedarwood, pine and melissa.

Essential oils that promote courage are cardamom, frankincense, marjoram, elemi, cypress, cedarwood, orange and helichrysum.
